Cloudflare completes IRAP assessment
Certification aims to open doors for its Australian partners into the public sector.
Cloudflare has completed its InfoSec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) which the company says will help its partners enter the public sector.
The completion of this assessment will enable to cloud company to provide connectivity, cybersecurity, and developer services to government agencies in Australia.
Steve Bray, VP Australia and New Zealand at Cloudflare said partners can leverage Cloudflare’s IRAP assessment to deliver secure, compliant solutions to Australian government agencies and other regulated industries.
“With Cloudflare’s IRAP Protected status, partners can accelerate time-to-market for projects requiring alignment with the Australian Information Security Manual.” he explained.
“This also opens up new opportunities for partners to expand into the public sector and critical infrastructure offerings, knowing that Cloudflare’s platform meets local compliance expectations.”
According to the Australian Signals Directorate, endorsed IRAP assessors help organisations to secure their systems and data by independently assessing their cybersecurity posture, identifying security risks and suggesting mitigation measures.
Bray said the completion of the IRAP assessment is “one very large step” on its global assessments and certifications roadmap.
“We are committed to the Australian public sector and look forward to working with additional agencies in Australia,” he said.
Through completing this assessment Bray at Cloudflare said they are able to position their solutions to solve key security concerns for agencies and regulated organisations.
“The work does not end here though,” he said.
“We recently completed our ENS audit in Spain and we are actively working on obtaining ISMAP registration in Japan, as well as our FedRamp High ‘In-Process’ status in the United States.”
Cloudflare said Australian Government agencies utilise its services to protect their websites and infrastructure from distributed denial of service (DDoS) and other cyberattacks, securely connecting staff to corporate systems and the internet, and to accelerate digital delivery.
IRAP, established by the Australian government, provides a rigorous, standardised approach to security assessment for cloud products and services.
