Editor's Note

Good afternoon,

Shadow Communications Minister Bruce Billson believes the Australian Federal Government’s ambitious broadband plans could potentially drive up consumer prices for broadband services.

Independent telecommunication analyst, Paul Budde, told CRN these concerns were not just scaremongering from the opposition and were legitimate, especially if Telstra wins the contract

According to Budde, Telstra has already set service fees at $85-$90 per month, because the telco believes the ‘premium service’, requires a premium price’.
